La Union ✖️ Baguio ✖️ Pangasinan: Holy Week 2017

I know that Holy Week is supposed to be a solemn time especially for Catholics, but for some, it’s the pre-summer vacation when people take the time to go out of town or to the beach. And this time of the year, I was invited to join their (my bf's family) summer vacation in La Union.

We left the metro Wednesday night and arrived at La Union the next morning with the rain pouring. After a long rest from a long trip, the elders decided to go to the beach somewhere in San Juan, La Union (supposed to be in the waterfalls at San Gabriel but it was raining in the morning) but unfortunately when we arrived at San Juan, we didn't get to enjoy the beach there as it was peak season, the rates are high so they decided to go back somewhere near in Bauang to have a dip. We stayed there until the sun sets, but some of us didn't got the chance to enjoy as we wasted a lot of time going back and forth with the scorching sun so we just enjoy the scenery and take a lot of photos.

After a tiring trip, the elders planned to go to Baguio the next morning to pray at the Lourdes Grotto. Just like others, we roam and take a lot of photos at some of their tourist spots. After Lourdes Grotto, we went to Strawberry Farm in Benguet. As we were on the way, we passed by at La Trinidad where houses are painted artistically just like in Rio de Janeiro. Our next stop was Burnham Park, but there was a lot of people that you can't even ride a boat or ride a bike and enjoy, we just circling down the park and went to the next tourist spot. The Botanical Garden was our last stop before heading back to La Union.

On a Saturday morning, we went to a river to have a bath before heading back home in the metro.

But to end the vacation, we stopped by at Manaoag Church in Pangasinan to light a candle and pray before we truly go back to reality.
