Korean Drama: #KDramaIsLIFE

I was curious of watching Korean dramas long ago but I never got the chance to watch some until early this month. I tried it because it was all over Facebook, the scenes from some drama were virally shared and it got me. These are the Korean dramas I watched for less than a month...

1. Coffee Prince (Jul 2, 2007 to Aug 28, 2007)

A tomboy is mistaken for a young man, but maintains the deception for the sake of employment. The situation is complicated when her male boss begins to develop feelings for this "boy".

I watched this first because it was a little familiar as it was aired in a local tv network, GMA Network, years ago. It was good to start watching Korean drama with this, slow with the romance and giving time for the characters to get to know each other.

2. Legend Of The Blue Sea (Nov 16, 2016 to Jan 19, 2017)

How can a mermaid from the Joseon era survive in modern-day Seoul? Shim Chung is a mermaid who finds herself transplanted to modern times. She is caught by Heo Joon Jae, a charming but cold con artist who is the doppelgänger for Kim Moon, the son of a nobleman from the Joseon Dynasty. But in the present time, Joon Jae works with Jo Nam Doo, a skilled conman who guides Joon Jae to become a genius scammer. But Joon Jae’s friend, Cha Shi Ah, who works as a researcher at KAIST, may be Chung’s only hope for surviving in her strange new world. **Inspired by a classic Joseon legend from Korea’s first collection of unofficial historical tales, about a fisherman who captures and releases a mermaid, this drama tells the love story between the son of a noble family in Joseon era and a mermaid.

I watched this with my boyfriend, and even him was in love with the story line. We laughed hard and I cried alone... hehe! The scenes are unforgettable especially Lee Min Ho and Jeon Ji Hyeon's kissing scene in the bed... soooooo HOT!

3. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo (Nov 16, 2016 to Jan 5, 2017)

This drama is inspired by the life of South Korean Olympic weightlifter gold-medalist Jang Mi Ran and it’s about college athletes who fighting for their dreams and finding love. Kim Bok Joo is a student in Hanwool College of Physical Education. She has shown strength like no other since she was a child as influenced by her former weightlifter father. She looks thoughtless at a first glance, but inside she’s as fragile as glass and has deep recognition. Jung Joon Hyeong is Kim Bok Joo’s best friend. He is a born swimmer but ever since he was disqualified from his first international event, he suffers from ‘start trauma’. Along with Kim Bok Joo, he overcomes his troubles and finds his dream and love. Song Shi Ho is a rhythm gymnast who also attends Hanwool College of Physical Education. She started gymnastics since she was 5 and won the Asian Games at the age of 18. She’s always been the best since then but mental pressure caused her to break up with Jung Joon Hyung and regret it.

Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk played their part very well. Cheers to SWAG couple!!

4. Cinderella And The Four Knights (Aug 12, 2016 to Oct 1, 2016)

A spirited, smart and nice teenage girl, good at sports, hates her home life due to her new stepmother and stepsister. She dreams of escaping her home where she’s treated as an outsider, and one day she helps out an old man and he extends an unusual offer to her. She’s invited to come live in a giant mansion and attend a prestigious high school, where she gets to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian. There are four other inhabitants in this house — three beautiful brothers and one bodyguard — who are stubborn and free to do as they please. She opens their frigid hearts and they become their own little family, and find love along the way.

I almost did not finish this even the first episode as I was looking for more handsome actors to play (pardon..) but I decided to continue to watch it because I'm interested in how the story goes. Along the way, I found Jung Il Woo and Park So Dam cute together, even their OST got me LSS especially "For you" by BTOB.

5. My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho (Aug 11, 2010 to Sep 30, 2010)

One day after Cha Dae Woong runs away from his grandfather, he accidentally frees a nine-tailed fox who was trapped in a painting for about 500 years. He didn't realize what he has done until the Gumiho (nine-tailed fox),who took the form of a beautiful woman, appeared in front of him. Dae Woong was so frightened that he ran away from her and became severely injured. The Gumiho saved him by giving him her most precious bead to share with him the mystic fox strength, as she owed him her freedom. The Gumiho then asked him to help her become human and teach her how to act like one. As time goes by, their mutual relationship grew deeper as they start to fall for each other.

I watch this tv series long ago but tagalized and never got to the middle and ending part. Shi Min Ah is cute! HOY! HOY!

6. You Who Came From The Stars (Dec 18, 2013 to Feb 27, 2014)

Do Min Joon is an alien who landed on Earth 400 years ago during the Joseon Dynasty period. He possesses a near perfect appearance and enhanced physical abilities involving his vision, hearing and speed. Later, he discovers that he has three months left on Earth. And that is when he meets Cheon Song Yi, the biggest Hallyu star in Korea.

This was also aired in a local tv network and tagalized. Kim Soo Hyun and Jyeon Ji Hyeon are good together and their acting skills are 👍👍👍.

7. Love In The Moonlight (Aug 22, 2016 to Oct 18, 2016)

Hong Ra On disguises herself as a man and counsels men on dating. Due to a love letter she wrote for a client, she meets Crown Prince Hyo Myeong. Ra On is unaware that he is the Crown Prince and Hyo Myeong is unaware that Ra On is a woman. The Crown Prince becomes interested in Ra On. His eunuchs become aware of this and attempt to get Ra On to become one of them.

I don't like historical but because it was recommended by my friend and it was recently aired in a local tv network, ABS-CBN, I decided to watch it. I enjoy watching this especially Park Bo Gum's smiling face and every time I see him, I see Coco Martin a little bit in him... hehe!

8. Goblin (Dec 2, 2016 to Jan 21, 2017)

Kim Shin is a goblin who is also a protector of souls. He lives together with an amnesiac grim reaper who is in charge of taking deceased souls. Shin doesn’t want to be immortal anymore and seeks a human bride in order to end his immortality. Meanwhile, Ji Eun Tak is a high school student who despite her painful reality, remains optimistic, ends up falling in love with the goblin. Sunny is an owner of a chicken shop, she is a bright and attractive girl who is loved by all men. However, while encountering hardship in her reckless life, she’ll meet the reaper and begin to change...

This tv series got me soooooooo real! The actors are SUPERB! The OST are in synch with the scenes! I had been dreaming of this and got me LSS a lot... until now. Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun are great couple, makes me want them to be together in real life. I rate this as my #1!!!!

9. W- Two Worlds (Jul 20, 2016 to Sep 8, 2016)

Oh Yeon Joo is a surgeon whose father is a famous comic book creator. One day, her father goes missing and she rushes to his workshop to look for him, and instead finds a strange man, Kang Chul bathed in blood. She is kidnapped by him and taken to a different dimension.

The story is complicated but wanting you not to stop until you finish the series. It was exciting to watch and I found Lee Jong Suk SUPER handsome! Hehe!

10. Descendants Of The Sun (Feb 24, 2016 to Apr 14, 2016)

UN peacekeeping troops are dispatched to the war-torn country of Uruk. Captain Yoo Shi Jin, team leader of the Special Warfare Command unit, meets Kang Mo Yeon, a volunteer doctor with Doctors Without Borders. As they work alongside each other in disaster- and disease-stricken zones, Shi Jin and Mo Yeon clash then fall in love.

I'm not a fan of military or war movies but I found this cute and makes me think the hardships of loving someone who always put their lives at risk.

11. Cheese In The Trap (Jan 4, 2016 to Feb 23, 2016)

Having returned to college after a year long break, due to her family's poor background, Hong Sul, a hard-working over-achiever, inadvertently got on the wrong side of Yoo Jung, her senior who is athletic, good looking, gets good grades and has a kind personality, but also a hidden dark side. From then on her life took a turn for the worse and Sul was almost certain it was all Yoo Jung's doing. So why is he suddenly acting so friendly a year later?

I watched this because of Kim Go Eun but the lead actor, Park Hae Jin's character irritates me not until the last 2 or 3 episodes. I pity Park Hae Jin's character in the end and this got me hanging...

12. Who Are You: School 2015 (Apr 27, 2015 to Jun 16, 2015)

Sekang High School is the most prestigious private high school in Seoul's Gangnam District, and Go Eun Byul is the most popular girl there. Meanwhile, her identical twin Lee Eun Bi is living in an orphanage and is being bullied at school. Then one day, Eun Byul mysteriously disappears. Soon after, Eun Bi loses her memories and is mistaken as being Eun Byul. Eun Bi then starts living her life as Eun Byul.

Watched this because of Yook Sung Jae and Nam Joo Hyuk, but I found Kim So Hyun's acting also great. She played both characters so well, you even know who's who.

... after this, I may watch another one. Hehe!
