11 Live-Action Romance Movies

Just last year, I have been watching anime from action/crime to adventure/fantasy to comedy/romance movie genre. Comparing what is best, the anime or the live-action. This list is random. Try and watch it!

1. Koizora


Mika is a fresh high school student who starts texting a mysterious boy. She is shocked when he reveals who he is - Hiro, a delinquent attending her school. What she doesn't know is that Hiro isn't as bad as he seems.

2. Say "I Love You" / Sukitte Ii Nayo



About one gloomy girl named Mei who injures the most popular male student named Yamato. Somehow, Yamato likes Mei and one day, Yamato saves Mei from a stalker by kissing her. From that kiss, their love story begins.

3. I Give My First Love To You


As a child Takuma is diagnosed with a heart condition that requires care from a cardiologist. He soon becomes friends with his doctors young daughter Mayu while being treated at the hospital. One day Mayu overhears her father saying that Takuma's condition is serious enough that he most likely wont live beyond the age of 20. Takuma isn't aware of this himself, however, so at 8-years-old he makes a promise to marry Mayu when they turn 20. Later in life, Takuma becomes aware that he wont be able to keep this promise and he begins distancing himself from Mayu in hopes of protecting her.

4. Blue Spring Ride / Au Haru Ride



Revolves around Futaba, a girl who was in love with a boy named Ko Tanaka in middle school. However, its not work because he transferred but in high school, her world is turned around once again when she meets him again.

5. From Me To You / Kimi Ni Todoke



A girl that resemble "Sadako" of the movie Ring is being feared by her classmates. She is avoided by everyone. While everyone is avoiding her, the popular boy Shota Kazehaya befriends her, and their love begins to grow.

I like the anime more than the live-action.

6. The Liar And His Lover


A love story between a famous 25-year-old songwriter, who keeps his identity hidden from the public, and a 16-year-old high school student who possesses a gifted voice.

I like the flow of the story and their songs gives me chills. If only the guy fights and the girl speaks for their love to continue.

7. Strobe Edge


Ninako confesses her love to Ren. But get rejected because he is already have a girlfriend. They promise to stay as a friend. Some other guy confess their love to her but she rejects them. Is it because she still wants to be with Ren?

8. We Were There / Bokura Ga Ita



It chronicles the love relationship between a boy called Motoharu Yano and a girl called Nanami Takahashi, starting from their teenage years and continuing during their early twenties.

The story ends when Yano left Takahashi behind to go to Tokyo with his mom, but there is a sequel in live-action, where they both struggle how to live away from each other and still ends up being together after overcoming the hardships.

9. Wolf Girl And Black Prince / Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji



Erika Shinohara is a first year of high school student. While talking to friends, she makes up a story about her "boyfriend." In reality, Erika Shinohara doesn't have a boyfriend. Erika's friends soon begin to doubt her story and Erika is also running out of lies. Erika then sees a pretty boy on the street and takes his picture discreetly. She later shows his picture to her friends as her boyfriend. The boy in the picture is Kyouya Sata and happens to attend the same school as Erika. She tells Kyouya about her situation and asks him to be her pretend boyfriend. Even though Kyouya has a pretty appearance, he has a dark side.

10. Love For Beginners / Kyo, Koi wo Hajimemasu



Hibino, a geek girl fall in love for the first time with Kyouta, the playboy. What will happen when a zero experience girl coupled with a lot of experienced boy? Love for beginner begin.

11. Hana Yori Dango


Tsukushi Makino, a working-class girl, attends an elite elevator school called Eitoku Academy, populated by children from rich, high-society families. She is the “weed” of the school surrounded by all the rich kids including the “Flower” Four (F4). The F4 leader and son of the wealthiest, most powerful family in Japan, Tsukasa Domyoji, takes an interest in Tsukushi, because she is the only girl at Eitoku who doesn’t fawn over him. However, his hot-headed nature and bullying ways are originally a major turn-off for Tsukushi, who has her sights set on someone else. 

Watched only the live-action.
